As part of its mission to develop and promote the fullbore and long range target rifle shooting disciplines, the USNRT is taking a proactive approach to allow membership for individuals who have demonstrated an aptitude for competing with a target rifle in the fullbore or long range disciplines but have not yet tried out or have not yet met the tryout qualification criteria to be a Regular member of the USNRT.
How do I become an Associate member? An individual must be directly recommended by a U.S. Fullbore Team Leader (captain/manager or adjutant of the Palma, Veterans, or Young Eagles team). Alternatively, a Regular or Emeritus member can recommend an individual to the USNRT Governance, i.e. the Development or Competitions Director.
Eligibility Any individual with experience in any competitive shooting discipline is eligible to apply, there is no upper age limit. An individual should be able to demonstrate shooting or coaching potential, especially in a team environment, and have a strong belief in their ability to become a high performing shooter.
Program The squad will be managed by the Development Director who will be the first point of contact for training activities. To fully develop Associate members in all aspects of elite level team shooting, they will train with the USNRT on and off the range and have access to sessions on position, goal setting, physical and mental training regimens, team drills, and plotting.
An Associate member is encouraged to participate in USNRT One Team training events or as a team member on a USNRT One Team competing in Top Tier competitions within America or on USNRT Tours internationally.
