The National Rifle Association (NRA) recently hosted the Long Range National Championships at Camp Atterbury, Indiana, 16-19 August 2024. Many of the top American long range competitors were in attendance, including members of the USNRT.
The matches were tightly contested, but members of the USNRT secured all three spots on the medal podium. At the end of the Championships, John Wilson claimed the title of National Champion and the Tompkins Trophy Plaque with a score of 1241-37x He also claimed High Military Veteran title. Additionally, John won the Leech Cup match with a score of 199-14x claiming victory after a shoot off score of 100-5x. He shot an Eliseo Universal Match Rifle (UMR) chassis chambered in 6.5 EL/MO and .308 Win.
Second place in the aggregate was Amanda Elsenboss with a score of 1240-62x. She also won the Remington Trophy Match with a score of 199-12x after winning a shoot-off with 98-6x.
John Friguglietti took third place with a score of 1240-60x and claimed High Palma Rifle title which earned him the Bert Rollins Trophy. He also won the Edward. D. Andrus Memorial Trophy Match with a score of 199-9x; the Palma Individual title with 449-25x; and the Sierra Trophy Match with 796-41x.
